What is involved within this course?
The key subjects – health and safety, pesticides and tools, plus more – are studied through a progressive three-day GMA Learning course. Delivered by an industry expert, make a better informed decision in order to determine the effectiveness of your maintenance. This course has been developed by the Grounds Management Association in conjunction with The Racecourse Association Limited. (Food and drink are provided).
What does the course content cover?
Some of the key subjects: • Communication skills within the racecourse • Leadership within the grounds department • Management of major events • Legislation for tools and equipment • Funding availability for improvement
Why should I participate in this course?
This Level 3 course quantifies the supervisory and managerial skills required by the groundsman to manage and control the resources on the racecourse. Plus, demonstrate the management techniques and processes required by the groundsman to produce a safe and consistent racing surface. On completion of course you will also receive a Certificate of Attendance.
This course is worth 15 CPD points / 15 CPD hours.
What can I do after this course?
To further build on the GMA route, undertake the Level 3 GMA Technical Diploma in Turf Surface Management – or Level 3 GMA Supervisory Management – providing formal qualifications in different aspects of turf management. These qualifications may be beneficial for people who have completed other courses at Level 3 who wish to further develop their understanding of the technical aspects of turf management or leadership and management skills. No practical work is involved with these qualifications.
Note: The duration of this course is three days.

Non-members pay: £2,620.00 (incl. VAT)
GMA members pay: £1,830.00 (incl. VAT)

Cancellations of GMA training courses are subject to the following terms and conditions:
32 days plus: 100% refund
8-31 days prior to the course: 50% refund
