Level 1: Introduction to Cricket Grounds Maintenance

Attend in person to gain up-to-date knowledge on maintaining and preparing cricket surfaces safely and effectively.

Keep your cricket surfaces in top condition – maintain, prepare, and protect them while learning essential maintenance, seasonal tasks, turf care, and correct equipment use.

Whether you’re new to grounds management or already have experience, this course provides the core skills and understanding you need to maintain playing surfaces to a high standard throughout the year.

What’s involved?

This is an in-person course led by industry experts. You’ll gain practical, hands-on experience in maintenance techniques and equipment use, helping you to manage your cricket surfaces confidently and cost-effectively.

  • Definition and assessment of the surface
  • Seasonal maintenance and key tasks
  • Preparation of the square and match pitch
  • Identifying and managing turf problems
  • Safe and effective use of equipment

This course can be tailored to suit in-season maintenance or renovation periods. Whilst we have no dates available at the moment, you can express your interest in attending a course or hosting at your venue.
