Level 1: Introduction to Bowling Green Maintenance

Attend in person to gain practical knowledge in maintaining high-quality bowling greens year-round.

Learn to assess and care for your bowling green and surrounds, performing seasonal tasks to keep surfaces safe, playable, and in excellent condition throughout the year.

Whether you are new to grounds management or seeking to formalise your skills, this course provides the foundational knowledge and hands-on experience required for effective bowling green maintenance.

What’s involved?

This in-person course combines practical demonstrations and hands-on training. You’ll learn key maintenance sequences for autumn, winter, spring, and summer, as well as marking, setting out rinks, and safe equipment use.
