Overview:

Equipment theft is an increasing challenge for community sport and can have a significant impact on clubs, facilities, and volunteers. This GMA webinar shares practical guidance to help organisations improve machinery security, reduce risk and protect valuable assets through realistic and achievable measures.

Presenters:

Ash Hendrickx-Nutley, Regional Pitch Advisor (Football – South West), Pitch Advisory Service (PAS), Grounds Management Association.
Ash has become aware of significant machinery thefts across his region and is dedicated to supporting clubs by raising awareness and providing practical guidance to prevent theft. Drawing on his experience helping grassroots clubs, he will share actionable advice to help organisations protect their assets.

Dave Luscombe, Special Projects Consultant, Construction Equipment Association (CEA).
With over 35 years’ experience in automotive, powered two-wheeler, and construction equipment sectors, Dave is a recognised leader in public affairs and industry advocacy. He has represented these sectors at senior levels of UK Government and EU policymaking, notably securing subsidies for the electric motorcycle and scooter market. Since 2011, he has driven major UK construction initiatives, including the nationwide rollout of the CESAR Security and Registration Scheme — now supported by over 85% of brands and hailed as the industry’s most successful anti-theft programme. Since joining the CEA in 2020, Dave leads the CESAR Emissions Compliance Verification (ECV) project, establishing it as a cornerstone of emissions compliance and sustainability. He continues to oversee CESAR, ECV, and partnerships with NCATT and specialist police teams to advance security, innovation, and environmental responsibility.

Audience:
Open to anyone involved in the management, use, or protection of machinery and equipment assets, including grounds staff, volunteers, facility managers, clubs, and organisations across community and grassroots sport.
