As we approach SALTEX, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on an important milestone for GMA NextGen and to thank two individuals who have played a significant role in shaping the group's journey over recent years.

This year's SALTEX will mark the final event for both Jack Langley and Meg Lay as Co-Chairs of GMA NextGen. Together, they have helped steer the group through a period of growth, transformation and increased industry influence.
During his almost three years with the group, including two years as Co-Chair alongside Meg, Jack has overseen the rebrand from the Young Board of Directors to GMA NextGen, helped establish the NextGen Network, and worked with the GMA and Turf Business to create platforms for young professionals to share their voices through industry publications.
Reflecting on his time with NextGen, Jack said: "NextGen has given me opportunities I didn't think were possible for a grounds person, showing me that changes can be made and that we can all have an impact on the future direction of the grounds industry. The work the group does, and will continue to do, is key in showcasing our diverse industry to the next generation and showing every stakeholder in the industry that the future is bright and exciting.
As I look forward to spending more time focusing on my young family, I will be supporting the GMA NextGen group from the sidelines, and I am confident that under the new leadership of Flynn Good, the group will continue to inspire young people to show that a career in the grounds industry isn't just possible, it is a viable life choice."
Meg has likewise been instrumental in driving the growth and visibility of NextGen. Through her strong presence across social media platforms, she has helped broaden the group's reach, engage new audiences and showcase the opportunities available within the grounds management profession. Her advocacy for the industry and commitment to championing women and young people have played a key role in raising awareness of NextGen, encouraging more individuals to get involved and helping position the group as a leading voice for the next generation of grounds professionals.
Reflecting on her time as Co-Chair, Meg said: "It has been an incredible privilege to help lead GMA NextGen and work alongside such passionate and ambitious young professionals. Working alongside Jack over the past two years has been a particular highlight. Together, we've been fortunate to play a part in NextGen's growth and help create opportunities for young people across the industry. Seeing the network grow, watching members gain confidence, build connections and progress their careers has been the most rewarding part of the journey.
I'm particularly proud of how we've been able to use social media and digital platforms to reach new audiences and showcase the exciting opportunities our industry offers. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, and I'm excited to see the group continue to go from strength to strength. We are leaving NextGen in excellent hands with Flynn at the helm, and I look forward to watching the group continue to inspire and support the next generation of grounds professionals."
Together, Jack and Meg have helped create a thriving and respected network that is giving the next generation of grounds professionals a stronger voice within the industry. Through their leadership, NextGen has expanded its reach, strengthened engagement across the sector and demonstrated the importance of investing in young talent to secure the future of the grounds management profession.
As they step down from their roles, they do so knowing that NextGen is in a strong position for the future.
We are delighted to welcome Flynn Good as the new Chair of GMA NextGen. Flynn has already made a significant contribution to the group and brings energy, enthusiasm and a clear commitment to supporting the next generation. We are confident that under his leadership, NextGen will continue to inspire young professionals, champion innovation and showcase the exciting career opportunities available within the grounds management industry.
On behalf of everyone involved with GMA NextGen and the GMA, we would like to thank Jack and Meg for their dedication, leadership and commitment. Their contributions have helped shape the group into what it is today and have laid strong foundations for the future.
We wish them both every success in their next chapters and look forward to seeing them continue to support the industry they care so deeply about.
