Andy joined the PAS team in July 2021 from Manchester City F.C. having worked as a groundsperson for five years at the club’s CFA training ground.
At Manchester City, Andy was responsible for the maintenance of the first team pitches, working on a variety of pitch-construction projects using some of the most innovative technology available in the turf-care sector.
Prior to his time at Manchester City, Andy worked as a groundsperson at Lancashire CCC where he helped maintain the practice facilities at Emirates Old Trafford, preparing surfaces for county and international teams to use. Whilst at Lancashire, Andy was involved in the construction of new county pitches at two of the club’s grounds.
Andy studied at Myerscough College starting with a BTEC in Sportsturf before completing an Honours Degree in Sportsturf Science and Management, giving him a firm understanding of the science behind turf-care practices and data analysis. Throughout his career Andy has volunteered at his local rugby union and cricket clubs helping with the grounds which has given him an understanding or sportsturf maintenance at both elite and grassroots standards.
