Our new governance policies have been agreed and published by the GMA Board. The question is, why are these important?
The Grounds Management Association (GMA) is a membership organisation, committed to providing the best service and products to all involved, and also to the groundsmanship family, across the UK and abroad. This means we have to be efficient and effective, we have to listen well, and we must lead our organisation to high standards; all these policies are important to those aims.
Part of our function as a professional body brings us into contact with Government, and occasionally receive Government funding. We must meet the governance standards set by the Minister for Sport, Sport England and UK Sport, in a new Governance Code.
Our governance policies, which comply with that Code, have now been incorporated into The Institute of Groundmanship’s Governance pack.
