We have published a guide to help keep grounds staff abreast of the temporary water restrictions now being imposed across the UK, clarifying where exemptions for continued use have been granted.
Southern Water was first to announce a temporary use ban across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, starting tomorrow (5 August). South East Water then announced a ban for Kent and Sussex starting next week (12 August).
With the Met Office revealing that the UK had recorded its driest July since 1935 and suggesting that these conditions could be set to continue, we are likely to see other water companies following suit.
Those seeking advice about the water bans should visit the guidance page on the GMA website.
You can also read guidance on watering and drought management, which has been produced in collaboration with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
