Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club, Brighton
Who we are
Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club are proud to compete in the Premier League and play at home in our spectacular 30,000+ seater American Express Community Stadium. Premier League football is the most watched sports league worldwide, with an annual audience of over 1 billion people, in which we are thrilled for our men’s first team to professionally compete. We are equally excited and proud of our women’s first team who successfully compete in The FA Women’s Super League, the top tier of women’s football in England.
Are you looking to join one of the Souths leading Premier League football clubs? This is a great opportunity to join our hardworking grounds maintenance team, who have the huge responsibility of making sure the pitches at our elite training facility are at the highest possible standard, ready for our Premier League players to train. This is a high profile and active position. The successful candidate will be expected to represent the Club in a professional and fitting manner at all times.
What does the day to day look like?
This is a busy role! Whilst your core hours will be Monday to Friday, the Club needs the post holder to be flexible and prepared to work additional hours, when needed, at our first-class training ground (this can include evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays). Your day to day duties will be varied (to keep you on your toes) and can vary between operating machinery and carrying out grounds maintenance works to the training pitches, stadium pitch and associated grounds, to attending industry training courses to maintain and develop your technical skills required for the role.
What can you expect?
We mentioned that this was a busy role, but the Club will recognise and reward you for your hard efforts. You will be developed in your role and will be supported to attend suitable training courses to keep your technical skills at the highest possible standard. The Albion are known for our culture and values leading the way. You’ll work hard, but the great thing about football is that you’ll see the results.
What we need
Given the nature of this role, it is essential for the successful candidate to hold the following qualifications:
- Sports Turf maintenance to a minimum level 2 certification
- N.P.T.C. PA1, PA2 and PA6 certificates in Pesticide Usage or willing to receive this training
- Qualified in the driving/operation of agricultural motor vehicles
The ideal candidate will also be a member of the Institute of Groundsmanship, but don’t worry if you aren’t as the Club can support your membership! You will also need to be willing to undertake a basic FA DBS CRC (criminal background check) if successful.
We have no regular everyday values. Our values matter greatly and are the essence of our identity and are vital to our overall success. The Club’s core values guide all aspects of the way we behave, the business decisions we make, how we interact with our customers and colleagues alike and how we measure our performance. Our goal is to act as one team with one vision. It is important for us all to live and breathe the Club’s values both on and off the pitch:
- Treat People Well
- Exceed Expectations
- Aim High. Never Give Up
- Act with Integrity
- Make it Special
What’s in it for you?
In return for your hard work and commitment to us, you will receive a competitive reward package which will include, but not limited to:
- A flexible working environment
